PWP today and tomorrow

The Shetkari Kamgar paksh ( Peasant Workers Party) is entering in its 75th year.Founded on 3rd August 1947, the strength of this party is its fearless attitude of struggle.Many a time when the talk of the Shetkari Kamgar paksh is finished, the party rises like the Phoenix bird.
       At the beginning of my article, I begin by writing a tribute to the legendary senior leader of the party, Ganapatrao Deshmukh.Due to his simple living and high ideology, a respectful attitude towards Ganapatrav has always been created even among the common people.Ganapatrao, who was elected as MLA for 50 years in a row, had immense connect with people.
His departure has caused irreparable damage to the party.
     Talking about the Shetkari Kamgar Paksha in Uran and Panvel, the party workers are currently in a defeatist mentality.There can be many reasons for this.But this is the right time to build the party as a component of the Mahavikas Aghadi.Member of Maharashtra legislative council Balaram Patil is the ray of hope for the party.He is representing Kokan teacher’s constituency currently.He is chairman of Kokan region of Rayat shikshan Sanstha.He is in good books of Sharad Pawar and Ajitdada Pawar too.
       It’s time for party to focus on small aspects.Grip over rural areas is strenghth of Party since begining.Party will have to go to basics of rural touch.Urban faces like Pritam Mhatre,Ganesh Kadu will have to push more in turms of party’s acceptance in newly developed colonies.Even though they are doing a farely good job, their efforts are in bits and pieces. Inteligent Corporators like Dr Surekha Mohokar,Arvind Mhatre are working silently.They are doing impressive work but that pattern should be into collective efforts.Ravindra Bhagat is fighting like a warrior.His recent hunger strike has shaken the PMC.He has a big hurdle to cross. This term will probably be wasted in transferring infrastructure from CIDCO to Panvel Municipal Corporation.Same will be the case with Shankar Mhatre and Gopal Bhagat.They are putting their honest efforts but it’s not fetching the results.
      Effective leader of rural areas like Kashinath Patil will have create more impact in near future. Scheduled ZP and Panchayat samiti elections will be a litmus test for party.Panvel panchyat samiti has been a strength of party since last many years.However formation of Panvel municipal corporation has reduced four constituencies of Panchayat samiti and 2 Constituencies ZP.This reduction may give dent to party.The gain from these areas in PMC elections will not take party near power. Half a dozen Corporators of Party in PMC has shaken hands with opposition.This is worrying the Party as well.
      The party of gladiators is fighting with great spirit.Balaram Patil is leading from the front.If every one collectively contributed with assertiveness to his efforts,we will be able to see Phoenix rising from ashes once again.
