Since the establishment of Panvel Municipal Corporation, about 1000 cleaners have been working in various departments. Carriers and workers working on the garbage truck have been pursuing the facilities they did not get for the last few days, but the contractor has adopted a time-consuming policy. The cleaners have accepted membership of the New Maritime and General Workers’ Union (NMWWU) as they believe that only Mahendra Gharat, a labor leader, can do them justice.
The nameplate of the union was unveiled today under the auspices of the union president, labor leader Mahendra Gharat. It is the right of the workers to live up to their trust and to get salary and other benefits. But Mahendra Gharat said in his mind that the workers should get permanent work.
On the occasion of unveiling the name plate, General Secretary of the Association Vaibhav Patil, Vice President Kirit Patil, Sanjay Thakur, Parashuram Bhoir, Murlidhar Thakur, P.T. Intak President Deepak Thakur, Former Corporator Shashikala Singh, W. Vidhan Sabha Youth President Hemraj Mhatre, Uttar Pradesh Youth Intak President Rajendra Bhagat, Organizer Anand Thakur, Vishwanath Gadge, Ramesh Porji Vijay Dabhane, Rajesh Kathawale, Lahu Mane, Rahul Janorkar, Arun Mhatre, Aditya Gharat, Yogesh Rasal, Prabhakar Patil and cleaning workers of Panvel Municipal Corporation were present in large numbers.
